Troubleshoot/ Tracing for Alarm Case

Basically, in alarm case in each peripheral there are standard operation that are standardized by ITU-T. it will be according by all of vendor that produce of  telecommunication product.

Such as degradation of performance will be notice by arranged: ES à SES àà FES,  then will be followed by Link unmonitored or Link down. This condition will be standardized all manufactured. EBER

Then, in each alarm has special treatment to solve the problem. In one case such as trouble in serial bus alarm there will be a certain handle to solve.

Serial Bus Access Failure

CTRL module periodically gathers Alarm/Status information which is detected on each module within the rack, and sends the resulting information to the LMS module. Serial bus access transfer information from modules to CTRL module. Serial bus access failure is applied when connection between module and CTRL is lost.

For this case, CTRL module was already replaced, probably alarm is caused by one of module from Rack 1. In order to determine which module exactly is problem, we have to extract all modules one by one as written on procedure below:

This troubleshooting procedure needs traffic interruption

Preparation

Login to DMR3000S and monitor MDP Panel Rack#1 as seen on picture below:

And also monitor alarm on CTRL module

Main Work of Investigation

Insert all modules that we extracted before
